Overview

Oshkosh Aero Tech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment, and airport services. As a Certified Welder, you will contribute to the safe operation of airports worldwide by welding components and subassemblies across multiple product lines.

Responsibilities
  • Weld components and subassemblies using GMAW‑P processes.
  • Interpret weld and assembly blueprints accurately.
  • Perform tack and full welding on various assemblies.
  • Conduct self‑inspections to verify quality and compliance with standards.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve issues during assembly.
  • Complete all required documentation, including work order closures in MRP.
  • Assist new team members with training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Current weld certification and ability to pass a weld test (Vertical‑Up T‑Joint, Flat V‑Groove, etc.).
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in basic math (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) and tape measure to 0.0625”.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Pass pre‑employment background check, drug test, and hearing test.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior welding experience or completion of a certified welding program.
  • Familiarity with Styleine, Team Center, or similar systems.
  • Ability to obtain forklift or crane certifications.
Expectations

Welders work in a dynamic environment requiring standing, lifting (up to 35lbs), and regular movement. Physical activity such as standing, reaching, and crouching throughout the shift is expected.
