About the role

The PDM Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting rotating assets using vibration analysis, motor analysis, thermography, and UE lubrication technologies. The technician analyzes data, develops corrective actions, and documents findings in reports for management. They also create Oracle requisitions for maintenance repairs and support preventive maintenance and breakdown tasks with strong electrical and mechanical competencies.

Responsibilities
  • Use vibration, motor analysis, thermography, and UE lubrication tools to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Compile and analyze data, develop corrective actions, and document findings.
  • Generate reports for management using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Create Oracle requisitions for maintenance corrective repair activities.
  • Support preventive maintenance and breakdown tasks with electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Lift, bend, climb, and access rotating apparatus such as fans, blowers, gear reducers, and motors.
  • Work overtime, including off–shift and weekend hours, as required.
Qualifications
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship in all areas of accountability.
  • Electrical skills (secondary education or certifications preferred).
  • Mechanical skills (secondary education or certifications preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of rotating apparatus alignment, balancing, and vibration analysis.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Required Certifications and Training
  • Level 1 vibration certification within one year of hire date.
  • Proficiency in UE lubrication, infrared thermography, ultrasonic bearing inspection, oil sampling/testing, and alignment tool technologies.
  • Basic data analysis skills in the vibration software tools specified by the PDM department supervisor.

Alcoa Warrick – based in Newburgh, Indiana, near Evansville, IN.
