The Plant Protection Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Newburgh, IN, certifications are beneficial.
Job Description
Responds to emergency scenes including, but is not limited to, fire, medical, sprinkler system discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, and numerous other types of incidents.
Arrives on scene, performs scene size up, and relays information to central dispatch center of current situation and any immediate needs.
Performs rescue procedures to include, but is not limited to, machinery extrication, and high angle and low angle rescue.
Performs fire suppression utiliziRequirements
Requirements- N.F.P.A. Firefighter 1 and 2
- Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Level certifications
- National Registry or State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification
- Out-of-state certifications must be transferable to Indiana and must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- Must be able to meet and maintain any applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic level certification.
- With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasionally reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
Additional physical requirements may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
