Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Dunbridge, OH
Principle Business Enterprises (PBE) is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and ensure our facility, equipment, and systems are operating safely and efficiently. This role is a critical part of our manufacturing operation and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on our people, our processes, and our performance.
What You'll Do Team Leadership & Development- Supervise, support, and develop the maintenance team including leads and technicians across all shifts
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Identify training and development needs and partner with HR to build team capability
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and open communication within the department
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance team workload to ensure timely completion of assignments
- Mentor and coach team members, supporting technician development and skill progression
- Own day‑to‑day performance management and coaching input in partnership with the Maintenance Team Lead
- Own and continuously improve the preventive maintenance program including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime
- Manage the work order system including intake, prioritization, assignment, and closeout; drive 100% completion rate of priority one work orders
- Identify equipment and systems with the most urgent PM needs and develop a systematic approach to address them
- Track and report on maintenance KPIs including uptime, PM completion rates, response times, and MTBF performance
Investigate machine issues and downtime with technicians and the maintenance team leader to determine root cause and corrective actions, ensuring follow‑through to completion - Participate in continuous improvement activities, Kaizen, and special projects; own sustainment of improvements within maintenance execution
- Assist the Maintenance Manager and TPM Supervisor in implementing and managing a world class TPM program tailored to PBE
- Own execution of scheduled PM requirements for the maintenance team on all PM days and activities
- Ensure accuracy and compliance for all technician records of maintenance during PM days
- Partner with the Maintenance Lead on writing work instructions and standard maintenance procedures for PM tasks
- Support and back up the TPM Supervisor with pre‑ and post‑meetings for Maintenance Days
- Ensure follow‑up and closure on all PM work and update records for continuous improvement
- Oversee the upkeep and repair of building systems, grounds, and infrastructure
- Partner with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activity with minimal operational disruption
- Ensure seasonal and condition‑based needs are addressed proactively, including lighting, drainage, and weather‑related hazards
- Manage the parts room including inventory levels, organization, and accurate tracking of usage by line or department
- Work closely with the engineering and TPM teams on spare parts needed to support equipment and ensure availability of critical parts
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate fair pricing and explore consignment or off‑site inventory arrangements to reduce overhead
- Institute efficient parts management practices including exchange programs and usage‑based reorder triggers
- Serve as a safety resource for the maintenance department and collaborate cross‑functionally to promote a safe working environment
- Identify and proactively address conditions that could lead to injury or property damage
- Coordinate and document safety training for new employees and internal transfers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations; drive toward zero recordable incidents
