• Perform preventive maintenance duties as required by code or accreditation organizations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment based on manufacturers recommendations.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical duties.
• Perform general maintenance duties including, but not limited to:
  • Replace ceiling tiles
  • Move office equipment such as desks and filing cabinets
  • Hang pictures, wall art, ad dispensers, and other items as required
  • Replace bulbs, make basic repairs to fixtures, and clean fixtures as needed
  • Assemble and repair office furniture
  • Use hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Obtain various supplies, parts, and building materials and deliver to appropriate location as required; maintain accurate paper work, records and documentation.
  • Be flexible with work schedule to meet the needs of the department and/or patients, including rotational on‑call schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist Grounds crew with snow and ice removal.
  • Participate in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attend required training.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and ACE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

• General all‑around mechanical ability required; two years’ experience in general maintenance preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Above‑average mechanical abilities.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical with the ability to troubleshoot problems.
• PC skills required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Works well independently or as a team member.
• Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy; provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
• Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
• Ability to work safely and maintain an accident‑free workplace, including knowledge of hospital emergency codes.
• Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission‑based precaution recommendations, and to utilize proper personal protective equipment; comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
• Successful completion of a 90‑day probationary period.
