Job Description:

Under general supervision of appropriate Manager, the Building Operator performs skilled HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, steam system maintenance & operation, and general housekeeping/maintenance of the assigned buildings orsystems. Performs preventative maintenance on all building system sand components. The primary function of the position is to perform,repair, upgrade, schedule and organize the upkeep of the assigned buildings, grounds, facilities, rooms, storage areas, and all ofits equipment, services, and vehicles.

The Building Operator will ensure the maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and organization ofthe building, its property, vehicles, and its contents.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires 3-5 years in one (or a combination) of the following fields: HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing and/or general maintenance.
Maintains a valid driver's license and must be insurable underthe University of Toledo's driving policies
Knowledge of general maintenance and general repair practices
Ability to use math, read and write common vocabulary, read blueprints, understand manuals, and verbal instructions (technical in nature)
Ability to walk, climb, bend, twist, kneel and lift up to50lbs.
