FT Maintenance Assistant FOR 2-3 months at 30-40 hours per week then turning into PT position

About the Role:

The Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep the facility. This position focuses on supporting maintenance activities by performing routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The Maintenance Assistant collaborates closely with the maintenance team to address any facility issues promptly, minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.

This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential maintenance needs and assisting in the implementation of solutions. Ultimately, the Maintenance Assistant contributes to the overall experience by helping maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality throughout the property.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures and safety standards.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and guests.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Good Customer Service

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in maintenance or a related field within the accommodation or food services industry.
• Ability to work flexible hours if needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, appliances, and building systems to identify maintenance needs.
• Assist in performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, carpentry work under supervision.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from employees, residents and families ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies.
• Support the maintenance team in preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining maintenance tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Take Residents to doctor appointments as needed in company vehicles.

Skills:

The Maintenance Assistant utilizes technical skills daily to perform inspections, diagnose minor issues, and carry out repairs that keep the facility operational and safe. Communication skills, time management and organizational skills help in maintaining accurate records and ensuring preventive maintenance schedules are followed. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are regularly applied when handling tools, equipment, and performing physical tasks. Additionally, problem-solving skills enable the assistant to identify maintenance challenges early and contribute to efficient solutions that support overall facility management.

Requirements:

• Pass a Physical and TB test
• Pass BCI
• Must have clean Driving record
