Grain Operations Technician Heartland Feed Services | Minster, Ohio

Heartland Feed Services is seeking a motivated and dependable Grain Operations Technician to join our team at our Minster facility. This position plays a key role in daily facility operations, including grain handling, corn processing, grain grading, maintenance, customer service, and inventory management. The Grain Superintendent reports directly to the Location Manager and helps ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in support of our business objectives.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the manufacturing and processing of scratch grains and ground corn.
  • Perform a variety of duties both inside and outside the facility as needed.
  • Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Conduct routine facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by supporting our patrons' needs and delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Manage and monitor grain inventory.
  • Inspect equipment and report or address maintenance needs.
  • Assist with grain handling, receiving, storage, and grading operations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic reading and comprehension skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to climb ladders and work at elevated heights to inspect and repair equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical and manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Understanding of the seasonal demands and workload fluctuations within the agricultural industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
