three‑plus years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field; skilled in at least one trade area (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, etc.), preferred.

Director of Facilities and Project Management

JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day facility operations, maintenance, and repairs across all agency properties, vehicle fleet, transitional housing, and equipment. This role coordinates with contractors and vendors and ensures maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Works closely with the Director of Facilities and Project Management to implement preventative maintenance programs but does not hold director‑level decision‑making authority.

The essential job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees and executes daily work assignments as tasked and assigned by the Director of Facilities/Project Management.
  • Coordinate and respond to staff and tenant work requests related to building and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance on all Catholic Charities–owned facilities.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors (janitorial, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, etc.) to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion.
  • Schedule and track preventive maintenance to reduce service disruptions and extend equipment life.
  • Assist as needed in obtaining bids for building service contracts.
  • Monitor the upkeep of facility grounds and landscaping to ensure a professional and welcoming appearance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, life safety systems, and grounds to ensure functionality and compliance with codes and safety regulations.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and recordkeeping for the agency fleet.
  • Coordinate the preparation of transitional housing apartments to “like‑new” condition for incoming tenants.
  • Maintain facility security, including key control, alarm codes, and access systems.
  • Support donation delivery and pickup logistics when needed.
  • Promote a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and agency safety standards.
  • Work with volunteers and demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic diversity of the service population.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities/Project Mgt.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary training in facilities management or a related trade preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field
  • Skilled in at least one trade area (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, etc.), preferred

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Strong flexible interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with employees and managers at all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills required to ensure that multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention.
  • Able to function autonomously and be proactive.
  • PC literate and proficient.
  • Excellent Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet
  • Have a working knowledge of computers and associated equipment
  • Attention to detail, organization skills, accuracy, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
  • Maturity and the ability to maintain confidences are required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, Fire, suppression, alarm, and/or HVAC systems
