Utility Technician
Niagara seeks a Utility Technician to maintain and operate utility systems including compressed air, process water, product water, and electrical distribution, ensuring a safe and clean work environment throughout the facility.
Responsibilities- Maintain compressed air systems and equipment, including preventive maintenance tasks, schedules, and operational data.
- Maintain electrical distribution and equipment, performing preventive maintenance tasks, schedules, and data tracking.
- Maintain process water and product water systems, performing preventive maintenance and data collection.
- Operate and maintain filtration systems, changing filters as needed.
- Perform CIP cycles on storage silos, filtering equipment, and supply lines.
- Maintain pumps and piping to ensure water supply to production lines and support equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate ozone production and monitoring equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate mineral injection systems (plant specific).
- Maintain and operate process water, chemical injection, and transfer equipment.
- Assist with filler sanitizations.
- Maintain and operate reverse osmosis equipment, including CIP on membranes and monitoring instruments.
- Maintain air compressors and air dryers.
- Maintain cooling towers, chillers, heat exchangers, and pumps.
- 3–5 years of experience in the field or a related position (experience may combine work and education).
- Preferred: 5–7 years of experience in the field or position.
- In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and preventive maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with compressed air, reverse osmosis, piping, and pumping systems.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to resolve issues promptly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree in water chemistry or microbiology preferred.
- State‑certified skilled trade journeyman status in a relevant trade (preferred).
