The Construction Containment Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining containment measures during construction, renovation, and maintenance activities within a healthcare setting. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations, infection control standards, and overall cleanliness standards to protect patients, staff, and visitors from potential hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

Containment Setup:
Establish and maintain proper containment barriers, including walls, doors, and signage, in areas undergoing construction or renovation.

Infection Control:
Collaborate with infection control teams to adhere to protocols that minimize airborne contaminants and maintain a sterile environment.

Hazardous Material Handling:
Safely manage and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Monitoring and Inspection:
Regularly inspect containment areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any breaches or issues to management.

Collaboration:

Work closely with construction teams, facility management, and healthcare staff to coordinate containment efforts and minimize disruption to hospital operations.

Additional Responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in construction safety, infection control, or hazardous material handling preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, environmental services, or a related field, preferably within a healthcare setting.

Knowledge:
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, infection control practices, and healthcare facility protocols.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. Ability to be flexible in an ever-changing work environment. Ability to complete tasks as required with limited or no supervision.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions. Comfortable using a ladder and working above your head, occasionally within tight, confined spaces.

Working Conditions:

- Exposure to construction sites, including dust, noise, and potential hazardous materials.

- May require evening or weekend work to accommodate construction schedules.
