School Janitorial Cleaner

ABM Industries is hiring a School Janitorial Cleaner to keep educational facilities clean, safe, and welcoming. In this role, you will sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize restrooms, empty trash, and disinfect high-touch areas in classrooms, hallways, and common spaces. You'll follow safety and chemical handling procedures, operate basic floor equipment, and restock supplies. Working as part of a supportive team, you help maintain a healthy learning environment while building skills and gaining advancement opportunities in a respectful, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
• Sanitize and restock restrooms, including fixtures, mirrors, and floors
• Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and transport waste to designated areas
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as desks, door handles, and railings
• Operate basic floor equipment such as vacuums and auto-scrubbers as assigned
• Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment per ABM and OSHA guidelines
• Monitor, restock, and organize cleaning and restroom supplies
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and help maintain a secure school environment
• Support special cleaning projects, seasonal deep cleans, and event setups as needed
• Work collaboratively with school staff and ABM team members to meet cleanliness standards
