Job SummaryResponsible for batching ready‑mix concrete in a timely manner, and overseeing the daily operation of the plant, including operations, maintenance, production, inventory control, safety, environmental compliance, customer service, and supervision of plant employees.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Maintain control and distribute mail and inventory.
- Ensure concrete loads are batched promptly in accordance with job and ASTM specifications, safely and efficiently.
- Schedule material deliveries and maintain adequate inventories to meet customer needs (aggregates, cements, admixtures, fuel, and warehouse products).
- Complete and maintain reports such as daily petty cash reports, CWC reports, environmental reports, and employee hour reports.
- Ensure a safe workplace based on company policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure operation remains in compliance with all applicable environmental standards.
- Maintain the plant in excellent condition, mechanically and esthetically.
- Oversee plant employees such as drivers, loader operators, and laborers.
- Ensure employees work safely, efficiently, and consistently with company policies and guidelines.
- Keep plant equipment and yards in proper and clean condition (batch plant, trucks, loaders, and other equipment).
- Maintain good working relationships with co‑workers and outside agency personnel.
- Perform daily material testing such as material moisture and concrete air content testing.
- Ensure proper storage of all materials, parts, and supplies.
- Make mail deliveries and pickups as needed.
- Operate and drive light and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
- Provide regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned location.
- Must successfully complete the BatchmanI Career Path competencies within 6 months and obtain supervisor approval.
- Minimum ClassB CDL with air brakes.
- Truck driving experience.
- Good safety and driving records.
- Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations and clerical skills.
- Ability to create and maintain maintenance records.
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of the surrounding area and company products.
- Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment.
- Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100lb. of weight frequently.
- Repeatedly climb stairs and ladders.
- Repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects.
- Use vibration tools repeatedly.
- Work outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
- Repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and sitting.
- Walk on uneven surfaces.
