Job Description

Non‑Exempt, Non‑Certified Support, Full‑Time, 12‑month Staff. District Employee Assigned to Afton Campus. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor. The role promotes quality education by maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable learning environment. Responsibilities include general upkeep and maintenance of buildings, grounds, buses, and fleet vehicles; assistance with remodel and construction projects; service and repair of ground‑maintenance equipment; preparing facilities for special classes and events;

ensuring that doors, gates, lights, and alarms are secure; and any additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Facilities, or Campus Director.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with all state and federal laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain buildings and premises in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms daily and maintain sanitary fixtures.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet when required, using approved equipment.
  • Secure exits, lock doors and gates, and ensure lighting and alarms function properly.
  • Shovel, plow, sand, and clear snow and ice from walkways, driveways, and parking areas.
  • Perform yard‑keeping tasks including grass cutting, plant care, and tree trimming.
  • Assist with inventory and replenish supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures, wear protective gear, and handle hazardous materials properly.
  • Provide support for special events, including setup and teardown of utility equipment.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls during scheduled breaks or as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing repairs.
  • Proficiency with power and manual tools, and light and heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Current valid Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate and Commercial Driver’s License with air‑brake endorsement.
  • Physical ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds and perform manual tasks.
  • Good communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status and eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Background check and pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must be able to attend professional development and safety training as required.
Schedule

Work hours may be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The schedule may be adjusted by the supervisor to meet district needs while maintaining a 40‑hour work week. A half‑hour meal break is provided.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary: $43,648.00 – $49,819.00, commensurate with experience. Total minimum compensation package (including health, dental, vision, life insurance, teachers’ retirement, flexible benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays) is approximately $64,648.00 – $69,819.00 per year.
