Kids TLC organization is looking for a Maintenance Technician (Full Time) in Olathe, KS. The successful candidate will be at least 21 years of age and will work under the supervision of the Director of Facilities. This full‑time role includes responsibilities for building maintenance, vehicle support, custodial duties, yard work, snow removal, and various campus projects.

Purpose of Position

This position supports the maintenance of Kids TLC facilities, vehicles, and grounds. The employee will assist the Director of Facilities with project management and ensuring that safety and environmental standards are maintained. Record keeping and reporting are also part of the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform building maintenance tasks—including drywall repair, minor plumbing and electrical work, painting, carpet cleaning, and other assigned tasks.
  • Repair custodial and laundry equipment.
  • Maintain vehicles, perform minor repairs, and manage vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Manage campus fire safety and environmental systems.
  • Conduct yard maintenance and snow removal for all Kids TLC properties.
  • Complete work order tickets assigned by or self‑assigned.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities with project management, documentation, and reporting of campus projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Kansas driver’s license.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with staff and visitors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and familiarity with industry‑specific software and CMMS ticketing systems.
  • Strong math skills for measurements and basic calculations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, operate machinery, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to comply with all Kids TLC policies and procedures, and to accommodate reasonable accommodations.
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in a maintenance‑related role.

Language Ability

Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of industry‑specific systems, web‑based software, and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

Lift up to 70 pounds, climb ladders, operate equipment, and work outdoors year‑round.

Environmental Adaptability

Comfortable working in a standard office environment or residential setting with high noise level and outdoor weather conditions year‑round.
