Job Overview
Seasonal Maintenance opportunities are available for individuals seeking a commitment of up to 6 months, or summer only employment, at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm and the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Duties may include, but are not limited to, general and grounds maintenance, light custodial, painting, basic carpentry, and other related tasks. The Maintenance Worker I is responsible for performing a variety of duties for one of the following crews:
Park Maintenance, Sports Field Maintenance, Horticulture, Forestry or Park Construction. Work is completed independently requiring a high degree of initiative and motivation.
Seasonal (up to 6 months or summer only)
Hourly Rate$17.50
Key Responsibilities- Operate a variety of mowing and outdoor maintenance equipment
- Install and maintain landscaping
- Plant and maintain trees and other plants
- Maintain athletic fields and other outdoor areas
- Pick up trash and debris
- Complete light custodial work
- No experience is required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license and a favorable driving record are required.
Work requires the ability to navigate uneven ground and exposure to a variety of outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and dust. Lifting and operating powered equipment requires lifting, manual dexterity, and frequent physical exertion.
