POSITION TITLE: Custodial

WORK ARRANGEMENT: On-Site Only

HOURS OF WORK: 8 Hour Daily/247 Calendar Days Yearly

STATUS: Classified – Non-Exempt, Full Time

HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday;
Options to be 4:00pm - 8:00pm; 5:00pm - 9:00pm; 6:00pm - 10:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining and protecting the assigned district building. This position is expected to maintain the external and internal appearance of the building.

This position reports to the Lead Custodian.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with equipment and furniture arrangement, daily operations, delivery of items, fixture maintenance, loading/unloading of trucks, and snow removal.

Collaborates with other maintenance staff to complete site activities.

Communicates information and supports district staff and students.

Conducts routine training to ensure proper custodial procedures are in order.

Monitors district staff and students around work areas to respond to emergency situations.

Plans, prioritizes, and schedules with supervisor to complete maintenance objectives.

Replenishes necessary building supplies.

Responds to immediate operational and safety concerns to determine appropriate action.

Sanitizes facilities and maintains the facilities landscape.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Demonstrate understanding of verbal and written communication and ability to speak and write at a level sufficient to perform the duties of the job.

Minimum of six (6) months of building cleaning/custodial experience is required.

Floor care experience is a plus.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

High degree of motivation, responsibility, and confidentiality.

Demonstrated ability in compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced work environment.

Highly collaborative team player.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.).

Ability to self-initiate areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as necessary to achieve desired results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

Occasionally lifting
30 pounds from waist to shoulder, lifting 55 pounds from floor to waist, carrying up to 55 pounds, and pushing and/or pulling 25 pounds.

Additional physical demands include; standing, walking, reaching forward and overhead, balancing, stooping, grasping items, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and operating controls.

The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in some hazardous conditions.

REQUIRED:

Background Clearance, TB Test, POET (post offer employment test - Physical assessment - fit for duty screening).

Must be 16 years of age.
