Job Overview
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform daily schedule duties
- Perform hazardous waste responsibilities (collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping/receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste)
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Prevent risk behavior of others and self
- Work in a team with other employees
- Maintain clean work area
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
- Take direction and respond to supervision
- Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, coworkers, managers, and customers
- Fill in during staff shortage
- Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
- Use proper personal protective equipment
- Present a professional appearance and conduct
- Understand customer service and satisfaction
- Understand reporting systems and the environment

Education and/or ExperienceNo specific education requirement. 3–6 months of training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMay be required to have a valid driver’s license, completed all safety and task training certification, and forklift certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBilingual a plus. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team. Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment- Frequent sitting, talking, listening. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Work environment characteristics representative of those encountered while performing essential functions.
Saturday and Sundays 7 am–7 pm. $20.50–$21.50 per hour.
Additional RequirementsMust take training to operate tugger, forklift, and ride on floor scrubber as per site requirement.
