High Hopes is seeking an experienced and highly organized Temporary Property & Facilities Manager to lead the stabilization, organization, and improvement of our facilities operations. This position is a unique opportunity for a hands-on professional to build and implement sustainable facilities systems that will support the organization for years to come.

About the Role

The Property & Facilities Manager will oversee maintenance operations across High Hopes’ 127-acre campus while creating the processes, documentation, maintenance programs, project tracking systems, and vendor management practices necessary to support effective long-term property stewardship. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable planning strategically, creating systems and budgets, managing vendors and projects, and rolling up their sleeves to help implement solutions.

This is a full-time, hourly ($28-32/hr DOE) role that is overtime eligible, and temporary through June 30, 2027 with the opportunity to extend employment or convert to permanent hire.

Primary Duties
  • Facilities Systems Development
    • Assess current facilities operations, maintenance practices, and deferred maintenance needs.
    • Establish and maintain comprehensive maintenance tracking systems, logs, and documentation.
    • Create preventative maintenance schedules for facilities, equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure.
    • Develop and maintain inventory records for facility assets and equipment.
    • Implement consistent project management and work order tracking processes.
    • Create documentation standards that support organizational continuity and long-term planning.
  • Facilities & Property Operations
    • Oversee and implement maintenance and repair of all buildings, barns, arenas, offices, equipment, and grounds.
    • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational risks.
    • Ensure facilities remain safe, functional, in good repair, and mission-ready.
    • Coordinate and conduct seasonal maintenance activities and campus improvement efforts.
    • Maintain records required for inspections, permits, mechanical systems, and regulatory compliance.
  • Project & Capital Improvement Management
    • Lead facility improvement and infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
    • Establish project budgets, timelines, scopes of work, and performance expectations.
    • Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to leadership & staff.
    • Identify facility priorities and develop recommendations for future improvements.
  • Budget Administration & Financial Stewardship
    • Develop and maintain facilities and maintenance budgets.
    • Track expenditures and budget performance.
    • Evaluate project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Ensure maintenance activities and projects are completed within approved budgets.
    • Support annual & capital planning and forecasting efforts.
  • Develop scopes of work and obtain competitive bids.
  • Select, coordinate, and oversee contractors and service providers.
  • Negotiate service agreements and pricing when appropriate.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain vendor records, contracts, and service histories.
  • Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
    • Support compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and PATH Intl. requirements.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and address identified concerns.
    • Maintain emergency preparedness procedures and related facility documentation.
    • Support organizational risk management efforts and facility-related policies.
  • Organizational Collaboration
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities-related matters.
    • Partner with staff and leadership to prioritize facility needs.
    • Support Building & Grounds Committee initiatives and reporting needs.
    • Assist with facilities planning related to special events and organizational growth.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of facilities, property, operations, maintenance, or project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing systems, processes, and operational infrastructure.
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, contractors, budgets, and projects.
