This site is a Snow Detail Site – must work during snow/ice season and shovel snow from sidewalks and pathways

The core working hours are 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, M‑F

The hourly wage is $20.19

This is a Full‑Time position offering a competitive salary.

This position requires that the employee successfully complete a criminal history background check, drug screening, and obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

This position may require use of your personal vehicle to transport persons served. All Melwood transportation policies must be followed. Liability insurance on your personal vehicle must be in full force and effect while transporting for or on behalf of Melwood. Melwood will reimburse mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.

Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in monitoring the custodial crew’s work.

• Sweeps and mops hallways, stairs and offices.
• Empties tenants’ waste baskets and disposes trash in the prescribed manner.
• Waxes and buffs floors with prescribed buffers.
• Cleans glass and windows.
• Washes walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Performs snow removal if required by contract specifications.
• Polishes kick panels, door knobs and other designated fixtures.
• Strips and waxes floors.
• Vacuum rugs.
• Mixes cleaning solutions.
• Maintains issued equipment.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed.
• Supervises activities of assigned workers on a temporary basis while performing own work.
• Assumes responsibility of the crew during the absence of the foreman.
• Performs all other duties assigned by the Custodial Foreman.

Supervised by the Custodial Foreman.

Must stand or walk 90% of the work time, sit 10%. Able to lift/carry 50 lbs and push/pull 50 lbs. Must climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach. Good vision with depth perception and color discrimination for safety.

High School Diploma or equivalent and one year experience in custodial work required. Some supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
