Description
Employee performs a variety of tasks such as cleaning facilities, maintaining parks/athletic fields/beaches/athletic courts, landscaping, inspecting equipment, in order to provide safe, attractive recreation areas for use by the public.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesClean restrooms on a daily basis, and other facilities as necessary. Empty waste receptacles and pick up litter on a daily basis. Perform landscaping duties (mowing, pruning, watering, planting, etc.) as required. Regularly inspect playground/other equipment for signs of wear, vandalism, etc. May unlock/lock facilities at opening/closing time. May collect fees and prepare deposit slips.
Education, Experience, LicensingRequires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the 10th grade and six months of related work experience. Possession of a valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside during all seasons.
Supplemental InformationAbility to operate hand and power tools and small equipment in a safe manner. Ability to deal with the public in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Skill in handling cleaning supplies in an environmentally safe manner. Ability to detect improper functioning of equipment. Ability to perform basic maintenance on hand tools and small equipment.
Work Hours and DaysWork Hours and Days will vary to include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Emergency Response/Recovery ActivitiesAll County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
