Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret SCI clearance.
Responsibilities- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency, including planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
- Serve as an expert technical resource reporting to a program manager and interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and third‑party vendors.
- Act as a singular focal point for all facility operations within a given data center and support operated data centers.
- Maintain data center equipment that supports mission‑critical servers at better than 99.999% uptime.
- Read and review blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, mechanical riser drawings, and job specifications.
- Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing units covered under CET1 classified procedures, according to specifications and established safety guidelines; log activities in CMMS.
- Assist a CET2 technician with CET2 classified procedures (MOP/SOP) associated with the site/campus.
- Conduct daily walk‑throughs of the facility documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, alarm status, etc., and catalog & compare for identification of discrepancies and trends.
- Understand site‑specific processes and procedures such as incident/outage reporting, procedure execution, PM standards, CMMS system, and the use of SharePoint to access CE procedures and training content.
- Learn how to access the site primary and secondary EOPs, understand the purpose of each EOP, and understand the critical nature of being an operator and first responder in the data center.
- Navigate and verify nominal status of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure via the BMS & EPMS systems, following site MOP & SOP procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type and utilize common administrative and office software.
- Ability to perform repeated bending & lifting of up to 50lbs during certain procedures.
- Read & review blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, mechanical riser drawings, and job specifications.
- Expertise in repair of electronic control equipment; experience in establishments producing electricity, steam, or heated/ cooled air primarily for sale; boiler tending.
- Possess a Journeyman Electrician License or Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent.
- Eligibility to receive a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance, or active TS Clearance preferred.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and to work at various heights up to 60 ft using ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, or catwalks.
- Good vision (corrected allowed), ability to see in color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
