Full Time, 11:00 pm – 7:30 am
Job DescriptionMaintains, calibrates, inspects, and repairs building equipment, services, and systems. Tasks performed comply with established guidelines stipulated by the NFPA, Joint Commission, and the hospital. General service expertise in all mechanical equipment, building services, and systems.
Essential Functions- Maintains all building equipment, services, and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, environmental, and security systems that support the operation of Children’s Hospital, parking facilities, and related locations.
- Completes building-related equipment repairs and preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Recommends equipment repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Coordinates work to be done by outside companies or vendors.
- Documents repair and maintenance service activities, including detailed equipment repairs and equipment identification.
- Ensures maintenance of parts inventory and material usage, keeps working stock on hand, and reorders parts as required.
- Holds reserve authority to initiate actions as required to restore normal operations or provide emergency services when higher authority is absent.
- Regular attendance at work is essential.
- Performs physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited technical/trade school or engineering college is preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in the mechanical/electrical field is required.
- In-depth knowledge of facility plant operations, including operation of air handlers and their relationship to the maintenance of a controlled building climate.
- Essential math and computer skills.
- Ability to properly use hand and power tools, choosing the appropriate tool for the job.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record and ability to provide own transportation is required.
