Chief Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic, hands‑on Chief Engineer to lead all engineering and maintenance operations at the Sheraton Suites Columbus/Worthington—an all‑suite, full‑service hotel where quality, reliability, and presentation matter at every level.

This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, takes ownership of their building, and leads by example.

• Direct all engineering and maintenance functions across guest rooms, public spaces, back‑of‑house, and event areas
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of all building systems and equipment
• Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, and mechanical systems
• Ensure the upkeep of the building exterior, grounds, and curb appeal, including seasonal maintenance

• Ensure compliance with Marriott International brand standards, safety regulations, and all applicable codes
• Monitor life safety systems, utilities, and overall building infrastructure
• Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and vendor relationships
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activity, inspections, and preventative maintenance programs

• Supervise, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians and engineers
• Create a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork aligned with Soartress values
• Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to proactively address operational needs

• Ensure all guest‑facing areas—from suites to meeting spaces—meet or exceed brand standards
• Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance needs to minimize guest disruption
• Support banquet and event operations with timely and reliable engineering support

• Strong technical expertise across hotel building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Experience in a full‑service or large hotel environment preferred
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Hands‑on, solution‑oriented mindset with strong troubleshooting ability
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility to respond to operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies

• This role requires mobility including bending, lifting, climbing stairs, reaching, and working in various conditions across the property.
