Job Summary

Boone County Health Center (BCHC) is seeking a dedicated EVS Technician to join our Environmental Services (EVS) team. As an EVS Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. If you have a strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality care, we encourage you to apply.

Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in environmental services in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Knowledge of how to choose and safely use proper cleaning solutions preferred
  • Understanding of sanitation and infection control principles preferred
  • Familiarity with basic cleaning procedures
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow established procedures
  • Routine Cleaning Tasks
    • Dust and clean furniture, equipment, and surfaces in assigned areas.
    • Clean windows, empty trash, and tidy patient rooms and office spaces.
    • Clean and polish baths, sinks, mirrors, and refill soap and towels.
    • Clean light fixtures, vents, glass, and metal hardware on doors.
    • Perform isolation and dismissal cleaning as assigned.
    • Move furniture such as beds, chairs, and tables to facilitate cleaning.
    • Collect and properly dispose of trash and linens from designated areas.
  • Safety and Sanitation
    • Promote and ensure a safe working and patient environment by reporting hazardous conditions and areas that need repair to the supervisor.
    • Use chemicals only for their intended purposes and follow safe dispensing and mixing procedures.
    • Always utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the tasks being performed.
  • Maintain Supplies and Equipment
    • Ensure that utility rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
    • Regularly clean and maintain cleaning carts and equipment.
    • Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment to the supervisor.
