Pastor and Principal Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain necessary daily cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc., of all classrooms, bathrooms, and public spaces throughout the building on a weekly scheduled basis
• Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
• Complete regular custodial tasks and specific facilities requests in a timely and efficient manner
• Undertake occasional custodial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs and tables, etc.)
• Periodic setup/take down for School and/or Parish events (tarping gym floor and setting tables/chairs and A/V Equipment, etc.)
• Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during any renovations and coordinate the deep cleaning of the school during the summer break
• Report to Principal and/or Pastor regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress
• Other duties as assigned by Principal and/or Pastor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills
• General construction, prior facilities maintenance, or other similar positions, ideally in a school setting, preferred
• Basic working knowledge of custodial work
• Familiarity with common cleaning products and equipment
• Attention to detail
• Ability to regularly lift items that are 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
• Must pass Safe Environment Training and Background Check provided by the Archdiocese of Omaha
• Valid driver's license

Education and Experience

St. Bernard School is looking for a reliable, skilled custodial worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our facility. In this part-time position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as cleaning to ensure that our facilities are functional, safe, and attractive. Being reliable and self‑motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential, as the ideal candidate will have good work experience and common‑sense knowledge.

You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.
