Custodian 1 Evenings - Holling Heights Elementary - 2:00pm - 10:30pm (Mon-Fri)

Full‑time, 12‑month position located at Holling Heights Elementary School, Omaha, Nebraska. Shift: 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.

This position requires moderate physical strength to perform routine cleaning tasks and maintain safe, clean facilities for students and staff. Duties include cleaning classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, study halls, cafeterias, libraries, gymnasiums, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, athletic areas, hallways, common areas, and outside building areas. Additional responsibilities are lamp replacement, operation of mechanical cleaning equipment, removal of trash from grounds and playgrounds, watering turf, sweeping sidewalks, and participating in snow removal programs.

Interpersonal skills and courteous relations with co‑workers, staff, students, and the public are required.

• Floorcare (dust mowing, wet mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, neutralizing, waxing, spot cleaning, stain and gum removal, shampooing) – 43% of time.
• Trash management and restroom cleaning, classroom and surface dusting, polishing furniture, restocking supplies – 42% of time.
• Lightbulb replacement, grill cleaning, surface dusting, ceiling tile maintenance, special activity support, repair reporting – 10% of time.
• Grounds cleaning, turf watering, sidewalk sweeping, snow removal, equipment operation – 5% of time.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; approved housekeeping courses preferred.
• Experience as primary/secondary school custodian desired.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish amiable relations with supervisors, staff, students, public, and coworkers.
• Ability to work occasional overtime.
• Ability to complete required training and properly use products and equipment.
• Ability to work from ladder and scaffolding.
• Ability to perform duties with minimum supervision.
• Maintain clean, neat appearance; wear uniforms and proper PPE.
