We were founded in Lincoln, Nebraska as a small team of two in 2010, offering social media services to brands and athletes. After a decade of growth later we have grown to be a uniquely well-rounded marketing and advertising agency with in-house media, sports, entertainment, and film divisions.
Mergers and acquisitions over the years (with B2 Interactive, Disconnected Media, Digital Hero Films, Victory Fighting Championship, Hail Varsity, and Parkville Media) have grown our team to over 150 people.
We serve over 200 clients who collectively operate in 8 countries, including 43 states in the United States. Our clients range from local businesses just starting to build their brand and online presence to enterprise organizations.
About the role:
We are seeking a hands-on, reliable Maintenance Technician to help keep Hurrdat's properties safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role will primarily support our three-story office building and will also provide maintenance support at our apparel printing warehouse and sports bar venue as needed. Responsibilities span general building upkeep, including light plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work, along with grounds and lawn care.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment, across all company properties.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues at the office building, apparel printing warehouse, and sports bar.
Perform general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, flooring touch-ups, and other minor construction and repair tasks as needed.
Maintain building grounds and exterior areas, including lawn care, landscaping upkeep, snow and ice removal, and parking lot/sidewalk maintenance.
Support the sports bar with maintenance of kitchen, bar, and facility equipment, coordinating with vendors for specialized repairs as needed.
Support the apparel printing warehouse by maintaining a safe, functional facility for production equipment and staff.
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors for specialized work such as HVAC servicing, elevator maintenance, roofing, and fire safety systems.
Monitor and maintain building security, fire alarm, and life safety systems to help ensure a safe environment and compliance with applicable codes.
Assist with furniture assembly, office and warehouse moves, and setup/breakdown for company events as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, inspections completed, and repairs needed.
Respond to occasional after-hours or weekend emergencies (e.g., water leaks, HVAC or power outages) across company properties.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must own and supply tools needed to perform maintenance duties, and be comfortable using them safely and correctly.
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school training or certification in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC is a plus.
5+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities upkeep, or a related skilled trade.
Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, with the ability to safely troubleshoot and perform routine repairs.
Experience with general carpentry, painting, and light construction repairs.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel between company locations (office, warehouse, and sports bar) as needed.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with employees, guests, and outside vendors.
Flexibility to respond to occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance emergencies.
Good computer skills for maintenance logs, work orders, and email communication.
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work is normally performed in a typical office environment.
Will lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds using safe and proper lifting methods, including tools, parts, and equipment.
Work may take place in varying environments, including office space, warehouse/production areas, outdoor grounds, and kitchen/bar facilities.
Will climb ladders, work at heights, and access mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and rooftops as needed.
May be exposed to seasonal outdoor weather conditions while performing grounds and lawn care duties.
May be required to respond to after-hours or weekend maintenance emergencies.
