Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

As a Production Technician with EO Johnson, you’ll be the on-site hero businesses rely on to keep their high-speed copiers, large-format printers, and finishing equipment running at peak performance. Every day is different—you’ll hit the road, meet with customers, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electronic, and networked systems, and solve problems that others can’t.

- Communicates daily activities between:
- Service call dispatch personnel regarding service call activity and completion
- Parts personnel for the procuring and status of repair parts
- Management to ensure that all possible resources have been made available for the proper maintenance and repair of equipment
- Other production technicians to identify effectiveness of corrective actions in the field
- Customers to insure corrective and preventative measures meet customer’s satisfaction
- Sales personnel regarding customer concerns or potential machine replacement
- Trains customers and users in the operation and functionality of new equipment
- Utilizes self-paced, group, and conventional classroom training programs to maintain technical skills as mandated by industry standards, which may require traveling out of state
- Trains on media and document creation software (ie, Fiery or Prisma Sync)
- EO Johnson supplied tools and computing devices in top operating condition
- A vehicle in reliable condition allowing parts to be secured in an organized manner
- A detailed accurate inventory of parts and supplies to maintain the fleet assigned to you
- Shop tools and work space within our office to support an organized and safe area
- Referrals to sales department personnel identifying potential to place new equipment
- Accurately billing for services rendered to install and maintain equipment
- Minimum:
High school diploma or GED - Strong mechanical aptitude with experience servicing complex mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience working in a team-oriented, customer facing environment
- College diploma in Electromechanical, Information Technology or related field or military training/experience
- Suggested
Certifications:
CompTIA Network+ or A+
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with constant ongoing training
- Excellent verbal and written customer focused communication skills to respond in a professional and friendly manner
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Must be effective at troubleshooting, problem solving, and coordinating solutions with outside vendors, users, and information technology staff
- This position requires driving regularly
- Maintain a good driving record and have a valid driver’s license
Work Environment Classification:
Remote work – In this position, the employee works mainly in the field (for example, at customer locations) rarely, if ever, having to come onsite to complete work in the office
