Accounting Operations Specialist - Remote (Atlanta preferred)
Mackinnon Bruce International is supporting a global industrial manufacturing client in the search for an Accounting Operations Specialist
.
Our client is a well-established international manufacturer serving industrial and municipal markets across North America and globally. This role is critical in supporting financial accuracy and cash flow across engineered, long sales cycle projects.
This is a highly visible position blending full-cycle accounting, purchase order administration, project billing, and order-to-invoice execution in a dynamic, project-driven environment.
The Role Accounting (AR/AP & Reporting)- Manage full-cycle AR/AP including vendor bills, three-way match, PO creation, cash application, credit memos, and collections cadence
- Maintain bank feeds, perform monthly reconciliations, and manage accruals and deferrals in Quick Books Online
- Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and gross margin reporting
- Reconcile AR aging, AP aging, order intake, and invoiced sales with variance analysis
- Partner with external CPA on annual audit and federal/state tax requirements
- Act as Purchase Order administrator, verifying pricing, terms, freight, milestones, and documentation
- Issue POs to production and vendors accurately and efficiently
- Track backlog, shipping documentation, customs summaries, and milestone billing schedules
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing aligned to project progress to support strong cash flow
- Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, and internal controls
- Identify practical, low-cost process improvements
- Coordinate professionally with internal and external stakeholders across North America, South America, and Europe
- 5+ years of AR/AP and month-end close experience within manufacturing, engineered-to-order, or project-based environments
- Experience supporting long sales cycle or capital equipment businesses strongly preferred
- Hands-on expertise with Quick Books Online
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with progress billing, milestone schedules, and project cash flow tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-starter who thrives in a small-team, high-ownership environment
- QBO certification
- Lean / Continuous Improvement exposure
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&O
- $70,000 – $80,000 OTE (based on experience)
