Staff Accountant (Intercompany Exp. Req.) – HYBRID Description

Our client, a well-established company in the industrial equipment industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team in Alsip, IL. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home two days per week following initial training. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position supports core accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, intercompany transactions, AP/AR, month-end close, and audit preparation.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative—with the ability to ensure accurate financial reporting and contribute to process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for long-term growth within a stable organization.

Staff Accountant (Intercompany Exp. Req.) - HYBRID Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP
• Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations
• Support accounts payable and receivable for assigned business units
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile bank, AP, and AR accounts
• Prepare sales tax filings and related documentation
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Generate financial reports and variance analyses
• Recommend improvements to accounting systems and internal controls
• Collaborate with operations and sales to align financial reporting with business goals
• Uphold a high standard of accuracy, communication, and confidentiality

Staff Accountant (Intercompany Exp. Req.) - HYBRID Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required
• 3+ years of accounting experience is required
• Experience with intercompany transactions is required
• Experience with AR, AP, general ledger, and journal entries are required
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables) & accounting software is required
