Accounting Manager

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead and elevate our accounting practice. This role is ideal for a proven leader with deep experience supporting venture-backed startups, who can combine technical excellence with strategic vision. The Director will play a key role in shaping client experience, developing scalable processes, and mentoring a high-performing team.

• Oversee and review GAAP financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of VC-backed startups.
• Lead and grow the firm’s accounting practice, driving excellence in client delivery, team performance, and operational scalability.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to founders, CFOs, and boards, providing guidance on accounting operations, financial reporting, and investor expectations.
• Build and refine scalable accounting processes, leveraging technology and automation to drive efficiency and consistency.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting managers and associates, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
• Partner cross-functionally with tax, advisory, and engineering teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Contribute to firm leadership initiatives, product development, and strategic growth planning.

• Active CPA license preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting leadership roles, ideally with a background in VC-backed startups or high-growth companies.
• Prior experience as a Senior Manager or above in a Big 4, national, or leading regional accounting firm.
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP financial reporting and technical accounting.
• Strong understanding of startup operations, equity structures, and investor reporting.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple client engagements, and deliver exceptional client service.
• Tech-forward mindset with experience leveraging cloud accounting systems and automation tools.

This is a remote position working California PST hours.
