Moore Colson is seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing Tax practice in Atlanta,with a primary focus on serving clients in the construction industry.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional to continue working on complex, meaningful tax engagements while building a long-term career within an independent firm.
As a leader within our Tax team, you will manage client relationships, review complex tax returns, provide strategic tax guidance, and develop the next generation of professionals. You will have direct access to clients and firm leadership while working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that values initiative, professional growth, and exceptional client service.

What You’ll Do:- Review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for construction businesses
- Prepare complex business income tax returns as needed
- Provide clients with proactive tax consulting, planning, and projection services
- Research complex tax matters and provide clear, practical recommendations
- Delegate tax preparation and research assignments while monitoring quality, deadlines, and engagement progress
- Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters
- Communicate tax strategies, technical conclusions, and engagement updates to clients and internal stakeholders
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members while providing timely and constructive feedback
- Collaborate with partners and other practice areas to identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Tax practice
- Active CPA license required
- Relevant experience working with clients in the construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting preferred
- 4-7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
- Experience reviewing complex business and individual income tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Proficiency with tax automation/workflow software is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client service mindset and consultative approach
- Self-directed and ambitious
