We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Operations Analyst to join our Tax Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution, accuracy, and timely delivery of high-volume payroll tax filings and payment remittances to federal, state, and local tax agencies across the country. You will work at the intersection of tax compliance, finance, and software automation—ensuring our payroll client base stays fully compliant with all governing tax authorities while helping scale our core processing systems.

• Prepare, validate, and execute recurring tax filings (Forms 941, 940, 943, W-2, state and local returns) across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

• Ensure precise, on-time electronic tax funds transfers and check payments to state, federal, and municipal tax authorities.

• Reconcile core ledger balances against tax liability calculations and client wage data to ensure zero discrepancies prior to submission.

• Test and validate payroll software updates related to new tax rates, forms, rules, and filing specifications.

• Help identify filing errors, automate manual reconciliation, and improve file throughput.

• Monitor changes in federal, state, and local tax filing schedules, payment rules, and electronic format guidelines.

• Communicate with federal, state, and local tax agencies regarding client accounts and compliance matters as it pertains to filings.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• 2–4+ years of experience in payroll tax processing, tax operations, or multi-state tax compliance (payroll software/Fin Tech background preferred).

• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, deposit schedules, and tax forms.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

• Familiarity with electronic filing formats and tax agency portals (EFTPS, tax centers).

• Proven ability to troubleshoot filing rejects and ledger variances systematically.

• High attention to detail with a track record of meeting strict regulatory deadlines in a high-volume environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.

• Hands‑on experience navigating IRS e‑services and state government tax portals.

• Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem‑solving capabilities, and clear written/verbal communication skills.
