DEI Program Coordinator

The Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management and The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Community Engagement are seeking support for programmatic activities that foster our commitment to being a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community in which all our faculty, staff, and students can thrive. The person in this role will be responsible for supporting diversity program initiatives, and events, at the direction of the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Community Engagement.

The DEI Program Coordinator will be an energetic, ethical, and collaborative professional who uses a collaborative approach to problem solving and has the proven communication, technical, time management, and planning skills necessary to collaborate productively with staff, faculty, students, and the community. The individual in this position must fundamentally embrace and further the Schools mission, vision, and culture while clearly reinforcing the Schools brand.

Director of DEI and Community Engagement and Director of Enrollment Management

Supervisory Responsibilities:

N/A

Position Status:
Salaried, non-exempt, full-time, regular, 12-month

Hours of Work:
Standard work week. Evening and weekend work may be required. Off season and holiday remote work offered.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Project Organization and Support

  • Primary duties include organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of the program and its related activities in support of the strategic DEI roadmap and plan.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, workshops, conventions, or meetings, and presentation materials.
  • Provides administrative support to the Director of DEI and Community Engagement including but not limited to providing timely response to calls, emails, general correspondence, etc.
  • Assists in preparing operational and statistical reports and budgetary requirements.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Strong preference for experience working with diversity, equity, inclusion or related programs
  • Strong program/event planning, coordination and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including attention to detail, balancing multiple tasks, and overseeing timely and high-quality work in fast-paced environment
  • Autonomous, resourceful, collaborative, and adaptive
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • High level of computer technology skills including MS Office in a Mac environment, Google/G-Suite applications, Asana, with the ongoing curiosity and ability to learn new systems and technology

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; and engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during regular business days. Overnight and out-of-area travel may be necessary, primarily for planned events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.

Driving a Westminster vehicle may be required for this position.
