As a Project Manager for the School of Medicine Office of Research Administration, this position supports special projects and manages project timelines across multiple research infrastructure units in SOM and Woodruff Health Sciences (WHSC) Discovery and Innovation, and other research and research administration priorities.

Specific

Job Duties:

  • Working primarily with the SOM Senior Executive Administrator for Research Administration and the SOM Research Administrator, the Project Manager will support implementation and decision‑making across a variety of projects.
  • Partners closely with other team project managers.
  • Specific examples may include:
    • Managing project tracking and reporting tools for executive leadership, partnering with faculty to launch new projects, process optimization and improvements, assisting with data pulls, updating and maintaining business‑related metrics, coordinating policy development/feedback/review, assisting with commitment tracking and forecasting of key financial data, creating and editing presentations for leadership, coordinating agenda development, assisting with on- and off-boarding, partnering with the SOM communications team, managing processes for business operations, and facilitating the planning and organization of events.

As part of the management team, the Project Manager collaborates with senior divisional leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to external relations, budget and finance, human resources, and operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends meetings with divisional executive leadership, develops and manages work plans, and ensures or facilitates appropriate follow‑up.
  • Drafts key communications such as articles, presentations, reports, and policies.
  • Researches strategic intent of, develops agendas for, and prepares materials or presentations for meetings.
  • Conducts complex projects requiring comprehensive research and data analysis.
  • Collaborates with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished.
  • Provides leadership to project team members and ensures integration of relevant business processes.
  • Prepares and assists in budget analyses.
  • Participates in long‑range financial planning, trending, and budgeting.
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.
  • Analyzes data and reports, identifies and summarizes trends, develops executive summaries.
  • Represents divisional executive leadership at meetings.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or other related field.
  • Five years of experience with an emphasis on project management and finance/budget analysis.
  • Expertise in use of office technology, including the Micro Soft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint,) Internet, and e‑mail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment.

NOTE:

This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department.

This role requires residency in the state of GA.Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
