Job Title:
Grants Research Consultant (Post-Award)

Job Description
The consultant will dedicate their full-time efforts to supporting post-award financial management for complex, industry-funded oncology clinical trials. This role involves managing financial aspects of approximately 40 active studies across thoracic, head & neck, and sarcoma oncology portfolios.
Responsibilities
+ Manage study finances in accordance with executed budgets and payment schedules.
+ Create, submit, and track sponsor invoices to ensure billing accuracy, compliance, and timely payment collection.
+ Capture and maintain accurate financial data for study teams.
+ Coordinate with sponsors, CROs, study teams, and Accounts Receivable to support financial management of clinical trials.
+ Run, analyze, and present financial and budget reports.
+ Review and develop a full understanding of executed study budgets and payment schedules.
+ Manage patient reimbursement processes and monitor appropriate charging of patient care expenses.
+ Invoice, collect, deposit, and reconcile study revenue according to contractual payment terms.
+ Follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment.
+ Manage overdrafts and financial discrepancies.
+ Ensure proper transfer of Clinical Research Unit Management Fees to applicable research infrastructure accounts.
+ Close out studies in compliance with School of Medicine policies and sponsor requirements.
+ Manage residual fund transfers in accordance with departmental and School of Medicine guidelines.
+ Work closely with study teams to align funding sources with faculty and study staff effort allocations.
+ Monitor proposal and contract status, advising PIs on key requirements and deadlines.
+ Reconcile monthly budget reports and identify needed corrections or adjustments.
+ Monitor compliance with sponsor, agency, and University reporting requirements.
+ Maintain financial documentation in accordance with institutional record retention policies.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience supporting industry-funded, post-award clinical research studies.
+ Understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles, including debits, credits, revenue, expenses, and reconciliations.
+ Bachelor's degree required.
+ Experience using a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
+ Must reside on the East Coast.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Oncology clinical research experience.
+ Experience using the person's system and SAP.
+ Familiarity with academic medical center research environments.
+ Strong post-award oncology research finance background.
+ Comfortable managing large study portfolios independently.
+ Demonstrated experience with sponsor invoicing, study budgets, and financial reporting.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The role offers the opportunity to be part of a team driving innovative clinical research programs, providing exposure to high-profile oncology research and collaboration with leading investigators.

This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.34 - $38.43/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
