Overview
The New School seeks a Content and Communications Assistant to support Admission Communications and the Welcome Center. The role is hybrid, requiring on‑campus content creation, weekly in‑person office time, mandatory staff meetings, and event coverage. The assistant will produce high‑quality Reels, Stories, and carousel posts, design print and digital assets for admission events, and collaborate with student content creators and administrative staff to maintain consistent, accessible content across Instagram, Zee Mee, Campus
ESP, and other digital platforms.
- Produce high‑quality Reels, Stories, and carousel posts that meet accessibility standards.
- Design creatives and both print and digital assets for admission events (Admitted Student Days, Discover Days, recruitment travel).
- Manage and create content briefs to ensure consistency across projects.
- Lead and mentor student content creators, ensuring timely delivery and best‑practice adherence.
- Provide regular updates and platform statistics to Welcome Center administrators.
- Edit and produce multimedia content using Premiere Pro, Canva, and other design tools.
- Film, edit, and produce multimedia content for various content platforms, online events, and on‑site coverage.
- Research trends, suggest opportunities, and educate the team on inclusive and accessible practices.
- Maintain active presence on Slack, checking in daily with the content team and Welcome Center staff.
- Serve as a positive, dependable professional resource and contribute to a friendly, fun working environment.
- Manage time effectively to meet all content deadlines and attend all team and manager meetings.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at The New School.
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for social network sites and associated technology.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong video editing skills with a desire to learn and troubleshoot.
- Impeccable attention to detail and aesthetics.
- Sound judgment, positive attitude, and excellent communication.
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to focus without distraction.
- Experience with Premiere Pro, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Zee Mee, Campus
ESP, and Google applications (Sheets, Docs, Forms, Slides).

Hourly Rate: $20 per hour. Work Mode:
Hybrid/Split – regularly scheduled on‑campus time (1–4 times per week) with remote work as needed.
