Experiential Graphic Designer IB – Entry‑Level – Chicago, IL (On‑site, Full‑time)
About the RoleThe Environmental Graphic Designer IB is a creative professional who thrives on solving design challenges and craves opportunities to create extraordinary, joyful work with optimism and empathy. You will partner with some of the industry's most talented interior designers and architects, elevating spaces into unforgettable experiences that inspire and connect across the built environment.
Responsibilities- Involvement in all phases of the design process from conceptual development through artwork production.
- Participate in recommendations for concept, design, art direction, and production for a variety of two‑ and three‑dimensional graphics, signage and exhibits.
- Under direct supervision and partnership with the environmental graphics team, design a variety of two‑ and three‑dimensional graphics, maps, print layouts for exhibits and signage.
- With guidance, work with selected clients and participate in the interpretation and translation of their expressed needs and ideas into concepts.
- Prepare photo visualizations and mockups of proposed signage for placement, content and/or usage.
- Prepare camera‑ready artwork for fabrication.
- Work with vendors/fabricators.
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or related design field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
- Strong typography skills.
- Must demonstrate skill and interest in three‑dimensional design, way finding, exhibition design and environments.
- Must be analytical and an independent thinker.
- Proficiency on Macintosh in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign required; skills in AutoCAD and Sketch Up a plus.
- Strong design orientation, communication skills, ability to collaborate well and attention to detail are essential.
The salary range for this position in the Chicago office is $53,188 – $62,063 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
