Youth Program Assistant (Hybrid Role)
International Rescue Committee (IRC) is recruiting a Youth Program Assistant to support after‑school and summer youth programming in Atlanta, Georgia (USA). This part‑time, hybrid role focuses on tutoring, academic support, youth empowerment, and college preparation for refugee and immigrant students.

The Youth Program Assistant supports IRC’s My New School after‑school program at Freedom Middle School
, Youth Futures after‑school program at Clarkston High School
, and IRC Summer Camp
. Working closely with program staff, the assistant helps deliver high‑quality educational and youth development services using a strengths‑based and empowerment‑focused approach
.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, social justice, refugee inclusion, and youth empowerment
.
- Assist with daily after‑school and summer program activities, including:
- Homework help and tutoring
- Literacy enrichment
- Social‑emotional learning
- College and career preparation
- Support supervision of students during program activities and field trips
- Assist staff with recruitment of after‑school and summer camp students
- Support basic case management, including student check‑ins and academic follow‑up
- Provide general administrative support such as documentation and file maintenance
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by program staff
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in education, youth work, or human services (preferred)
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations (strongly preferred)
- Experience tutoring or mentoring youth (preferred)
- Job Type: Part‑time
- Schedule: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at least 3 days per week (Monday–Friday)
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (office, remote, and field‑based work)
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA
- Compensation: USD $17.80 – $19.40 per hour
- Travel: Occasional domestic (non‑local) travel may be required
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured personal vehicle
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Comfortable participating in home visits with youth program staff
