Online Teaching, Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional
You have mastered challenging problems. Now apply that expertise where it matters most: guiding talented students to compete, advance, and succeed.
GT School serves families seeking outcomes beyond strong report cards. We develop gifted learners through meaningful challenges: national and international contests, transparent results, and accomplishments that shape their future. This position exists because our mathematics program succeeds only when students emerge from each session more confident, more capable, and competition-ready.
This is not a standard tutoring position. You will facilitate live online workshops that challenge high‑performing students, deliver focused preparation for competitions including AMC and AIME, and develop reusable resources that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campuses. If you excel at transforming potential into documented achievement and can communicate complex concepts with precision, you will succeed in this role.
If you possess a verifiable history of mathematical distinction and want to shape the next generation of competitors, we invite your application.
What You Will Be Doing- Develop and facilitate 2–4 live online domain workshops weekly that cultivate competition‑grade mathematical reasoning
- Provide individualized or small‑group coaching for specific competitions through mock examinations, timed exercises, and thorough analysis
- Identify skill gaps quickly and build customized development plans aligned with each student's objectives and contest schedule
- Monitor student advancement using a defined mathematics progression framework and modify teaching approaches based on data
- Produce original, challenging problem collections and modular instructional materials designed for reuse by other educators at scale
- Provide general assignment assistance or grade‑focused tutoring lacking defined, trackable results
- Conduct conventional classroom‑format lessons limited to standard academic curricula
- Offer unplanned problem‑solving sessions without structure, assessment mechanisms, or competitive pathways
- Rely on borrowed or insufficiently rigorous content that fails to meet competitive mathematics benchmarks
Key Responsibilities
This role ensures gifted students reliably attain measurable, competition‑level mathematical achievements that GT School can showcase and families can depend on.
Basic Requirements- Documented elite mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or equivalent verifiable record)
- Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrable results
- Capacity to communicate advanced mathematics in clear, accessible terms to gifted young students
- Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content domains, and preparation methodology (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
- Effective virtual instruction skills and ability to maintain student engagement through video platforms
- Availability for 5–10 hours weekly
- Dependable internet connection and professional video equipment
- Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or creator of competition‑oriented educational content
- Track record developing reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for use by other educators
- Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other validated competition results
