The Program Supervisor will oversee the implementation and operation of the DFSS: PI home-based program, ensuring compliance with performance standards and organizational goals. This role is responsible for managing a team of Parent Educators, providing leadership, guidance, and ongoing professional development. The Program Supervisor will ensure the effective delivery of services, monitor program outcomes, and work collaboratively with other program staff to meet the needs of enrolled families.

Key responsibilities include overseeing family enrollment, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting Parent Educators in their work with families.

Additionally, the Program Supervisor will coordinate recruitment efforts, engage with community partners for referrals, and ensure smooth transitions for children moving from home-based services to center-based programs. The role also includes conducting reflective supervision, monitoring staff performance, and providing strategic input to improve program delivery. The Program Supervisor will ensure that program activities are aligned with the best practices, organizational objectives, and funding requirements.

This position will be serving participants in South Suburban Cook.

• Program Operations & Compliance
• Performs all duties associated with this position with a strong understanding of the DFSS: PI & Parents as Teachers performance standards, incorporating Life Skills Progression, and consistently demonstrates professional best practices.
• Enrolls all birth-to-three children and families into the DFSS: PI home-based program, with support from the Family Support Specialists.
• Monitors and tracks Parent Educator assignments, parent involvement (including monthly visits to ensure ongoing participation), and social service activity. Follows up with parents when inconsistencies are identified.
• Works with the Center Director to ensure adherence to performance standards and compliance requirements.
• Reviews and follows up on the goals and progress of families enrolled in the PI-home visiting program to support Parent Educators in their work with families.
• Maintains regular contact with families through home visits (as necessary), phone calls, and written communication to assess needs and interests in the program.
• Develops and maintains relationships with social service agencies to facilitate partnerships for referrals and recruitment.
• Participates in reflective supervision sessions with the Center Director and direct reports.
• Attends monthly reflective practice meetings with the Mental Health Consultant (MHC), department staff meetings, agency-wide meetings, and required training and conference sessions.
• Collaborates with the Family Support Specialists to coordinate monthly recruitment efforts and community outreach, ensuring full program enrollment and a waitlist.
• Supports the Director in preparing reports for stakeholders, funding agencies, and internal use.
• Assists the Director with locating appropriate HS/PFA center-based programs to refer 2.6-year-old children to prior to their third birthday.
• Helps monitor and assess the program’s impact, offering insights and recommendations to improve service delivery and outcomes.
• Works with the Director oversee training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related degree from an accredited school is required.
• Minimum of three-five years’ experience in Early Childhood Education and working with families, which includes direct service.
• Certification in the Parents as Teachers model (must be obtained within six months of hire).
• Must hold or obtain the Gateways to Opportunity Family Specialist Credential (within six months of hire).
• Proven experience in collaborating with community partners and establishing effective working relationships to support program goals and expand service offerings.
