Virtual School Psychologist
Location:

Job Type: Part time, Work From Home Opportunity
Pay: $50/Hour
As a Virtual School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students enrolled in our virtual education programs throughout Illinois. You will collaborate closely with educators, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders to promote the overall well-being of students and facilitate their success in a virtual learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for appropriate interventions and accommodations to support student learning and development.
Individualized Support and Counseling:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to address specific student needs and promote positive coping strategies and resilience.
Consultation and
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support students' academic and behavioral success in a virtual learning environment.
- Serve as a resource and provide consultation to educators and parents on a wide range of issues related to student development and mental health.
Crisis Intervention and Prevention:
- Provide crisis intervention services and support to students, families, and staff as needed, including risk assessment, safety planning, and referral to appropriate community resources.
- Develop and implement proactive strategies to promote mental health awareness and prevent crises within the school community.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, counseling sessions, and interventions in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the development and review of students' educational plans.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
- Experience working as a school psychologist in an educational setting, preferably in a virtual or online environment.
- Strong assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing the practice of school psychology in Illinois.
