Job Description & How to Apply Below

You've already taken something from zero to scale. Now you're looking for your next meaningful challenge—one with both urgency and a clear moral imperative. If you believe the U.S. education system is failing gifted students in ways that can't be ignored, and you're prepared to act on that belief, this role deserves your attention.

gt.school is reimagining what school means for high-ability learners. Our 2 Hour Learning approach condenses the traditional academic day into concentrated, mastery-driven sessions—creating space for students to tackle substantive challenges. We're now building a physical model campus that delivers what's been missing: leadership development, structured peer competition, a culture that rewards performance, and the community these students have lacked.

You'll own the design, validation, and public launch of this model campus—with the intent of establishing it as the blueprint for a national network. You'll also continue developing our virtual GT Anywhere program alongside the existing team. This includes testing programs in the real world, cultivating demand among parents, embedding a durable culture, and creating the operational playbooks needed to scale.

We're looking for someone with founder-level drive and track record. Someone who knows that strong ideas are worthless without disciplined execution. Someone who can translate a bold perspective into a school that parents talk about constantly—and that students are eager to join.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Designing and piloting scalable programs that go beyond academics—emphasizing leadership development, independence, and competitive performance
  • Validating and launching a physical model campus, including operational structure, staffing frameworks, and spatial planning
  • Creating parent-facing communication, market development strategies, and replicable growth frameworks to support expansion
  • Establishing, documenting, and scaling quality benchmarks and cultural practices across future locations
  • Serving as the visible leader of the model—generating awareness through media presence, public events, and strategic partnerships
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Operating a conventional school with standard classrooms, full-time teachers, and all-day schedules
  • Serving families seeking watered-down gifted programs that offer AP courses but little real challenge
  • Leading incremental improvements within existing systems—we're not refining schools, we're building an alternative
  • Optimizing for surface-level engagement metrics—our focus is on measurable outcomes and substantive learning, not busy work
  • Working entirely remotely—you'll have flexibility, but expect to spend approximately 1 week per month in Austin to stay grounded in the work
Entrepreneur In Residence

Key Responsibilities

Design, validate, and scale a high-performance educational model for gifted students—beginning with a single prototype campus and building toward a national network.

Basic Requirements
  • Founded and scaled a high-impact venture from the ground up (preference for ventures involving physical operations or education). We mean at least 1M USD in annual revenue that you owned
  • Deep, firsthand understanding of gifted students—gained through family, professional work, or personal experience
  • AI First mentality — A default orientation toward using AI for problem-solving, decision-making, and generating work output at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate a compelling vision and persuade skeptics to believe in it
  • Located in the U.S., with the ability to travel to Austin regularly (at least 1 week per month)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
