Electric Vehicle Quote and Estimator Engineer

Overview

Tempel Steel Company LLC is seeking an Electric Vehicle Quote and Estimator Engineer in Chicago, IL with the following requirements.

• Collect data from finance, manufacturing, purchasing and engineering and translate into a financial model to execute quotes for parts used in Electric Vehicles (EV) and Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) vehicles.
• Communicate the model for leadership disposition to synchronize and publish quotes.
• Provide project management of new program launches, selecting equipment and managing the project timeline for the automotive industry.
• Develop a communication strategy to present to automotive customers, optimally positioning the quote offer through the negotiation process.
• Assess the impact of production changes of existing programs using expertise to navigate the financial cost model.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent degree plus 5 years of related experience.
• Required skills:
  
  data collection and financial modeling for quotes related to EV and ICE components; ability to present and justify quotes to leadership; experience with project management in automotive programs; strong communication and negotiation skills; understanding of cost models and production changes.
• Location/Remote work: 85% remote work allowed; must live within normal commuting distance of Chicago, IL.

Salary: $101,000 - $125,664
