Overview
Principal Data Engineer, Krikey, Inc., San Francisco, CA. Fully remote position.
Responsibilities- Drive adoption of data engineering best practices, standards, and methodologies.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes, developing data models and schemas to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with data scientists/analysts to translate data needs into technical solutions.
- Leverage big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for large-scale data processing and analysis.
- Establish and enforce data quality standards and implement data governance policies.
- Design and deploy data pipelines/stores on cloud platforms, optimizing infrastructure for cost and performance.
- Solve complex data engineering challenges using innovative approaches.
- Stay current with data engineering trends, mentor junior engineers, and foster innovation.
- Proactively resolve production errors and document results.
- Lead engineering R&D and project scoping for new product lines, lead trainings/code reviews, manage production deployments/outages, and assist with AI training pipelines.
- Master’s degree in computer science, information systems management, engineering, or related discipline and 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of delivering successful data projects.
- 5 years’ experience with programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java, with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Must successfully complete competency-based interview.
Expected Salary: $207,000 - $251,000.
