Civil Designer Energy & Industrial

Overview

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You will spend three days a week in the office, allowing two days of remote work.

• Work with multidisciplinary engineering and design project teams to develop 3D models of civil grading and structures, producing civil drawing deliverables within CAD software.
• Develop civil layout drawings in a 3‑D model, covering all phases of civil grading design, including roads, ditches, drainage ponds, finish surfacing plans, permanent fencing plans, and other civil design issues.
• Interpret and coordinate topographical data to plan and execute civil design deliverables, both independently and as part of a design team.
• Coordinate detailed design phases for an integrated 2D/3D civil design model, including underground piping, building entryways, erosion control plans, traffic control plans, waterway barge unloading, and switchyard grading and drainage.
• Provide support to other designers and project team members across engineering and design business units to ensure complete and timely design.

• Three or more years of detailed design experience in the development of civil design drawings.
• Proficiency with design software tools for executing 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing civil layout drawings throughout all phases of grading, regrading, and final grading.
• Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process.

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred.
• CAD certificate required if not a degree.
• Previous relevant experience considered.

• Three or more years of detailed design experience.
• Proficiency with design software tools for 3D plant layout models.
• Experience reviewing civil layout drawings.
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
