We are seeking a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience within the utility industry, working directly for a utility or consulting company. The engineer will perform design reviews of civil/structural components—including substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and firewalls—in support of bid and construction packages for substation projects.
The candidate will lead senior projects, conduct design reviews, and develop junior staff members. Site visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for client meetings and industry events are expected.
The engineer must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations, serving as a senior member of a design team that includes engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
Qualifications- PE license required in PA, OH, WV, MD, NJ or the ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3‑12 months.
- SE licensure is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MATHCAD software is required.
- Experience with RISA 3‑D, STAAD.Pro, FAD, SAG
10, and LPILE software is required. - Familiarity with AutoCAD and Micro Station is required.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Team player with the ability to communicate with clients and staff.
Work Location: MA, MI, IL. Remote work is preferred for candidates residing in the Eastern or Central time zone.
Pay and BenefitsPay Range: $73,450.00 – $. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation.
