Mechanical Engineer | 100% Remote (ET/CT)

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working through challenging designs, and being part of a team that genuinely supports each other. This is a fully remote opportunity where you'll stay hands-on with meaningful engineering work while continuing to grow your skillset.

In this role, you'll help drive engineering projects forward-from early problem-solving through design and evaluation-while working on systems that truly matter. You'll collaborate closely with a strong team, contribute ideas, and play a key role in delivering practical, high-quality solutions to clients in the nuclear energy space.

What You'll Be Doing

* Analyze engineering problems and define performance requirements for systems, components, and processes

* Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize work and deliver on project goals

* Develop and recommend practical, client-focused solutions

* Review complex calculations, designs, and technical deliverables

* Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems using core engineering principles (mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, etc.)

* Support planning efforts, including scheduling, resource needs, and specialized equipment recommendations

What You Bring

* 5-15 years of mechanical engineering experience

* Background in nuclear power plant design

* Strong working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations

* Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards

* Experience with AutoCAD and design work

* BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Nice to Have

* Understanding of Engineering Change Control processes within nuclear utilities

* Ability to build strong working relationships with plant stakeholders and clients

* Strong communication and organization skills-you're someone people trust and enjoy working with

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.
