Role Description The Solution Estimator is a full-time role based in the Greater Atlanta area with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for a mix of on-site and remote work. In this role, the colleague prepares detailed cost estimates and proposals for integrated security systems projects and related technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project specifications and drawings, identifying materials and labor requirements, consulting with project managers and sales teams, and coordinating with vendors to obtain accurate pricing.

The Solution Estimator analyzes risks, margins, and alternative design options to ensure estimates are competitive, feasible, and aligned with customer requirements and company standards. This role also supports bid reviews, maintains estimating tools and databases, and contributes to continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents related to electronic security, fire and life safety, building automation, and AV systems.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for developing cost estimates, performing margin analysis, and comparing vendor quotes and solution options.
  • Proficiency with office productivity and estimating tools (e.g., Excel or other spreadsheet software, estimating or proposal software, CRM platforms) and comfort working with data.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with sales, engineering, project management, and vendors, and for preparing clear, customer-ready proposals.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of or experience in systems integration, construction, low-voltage, or related technical fields; prior estimating, project coordination, or design experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement across rhe state of Georgia, including on-site collaboration and remote work, while maintaining accountability and responsiveness.
